Dr. Tulika Prasad is working as Assistant Professor in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) since Aug, 2008. She is jointly faculty at Advanced Instrumentation Research Facility (AIRF) and Special Centre for Nano Science (SCNS) in JNU. Her area of work is Nanomedicine, Lipid Biology and Microbial Drug resistance.
She has done her graduation and post graduation from Presidency College, Calcutta University. She obtained her PhD in 2005/6 jointly working at School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Department of BioSciences, Jamia Millia Islamia on the lipid mediated molecular mechanisms of drug resistance in pathogenic yeast, Candida albicans. She is the recipient of several awards at National level which include Ranbaxy Science Scholar Award-2008, DBT-Innovative Young Biotechnologist Award (IYBA)-2008. Her work has received more than 15 Best Poster, Best Oral Presentation and Young Scientist Awards in several International Conferences. She has research grants from various Indian funding agencies- DBT, ICMR, OSDD-CSIR, UGC etc. She is life member of several Scientific Societies and peer reviewer of several journals. She is an active researcher and her research work has been published in peer reviewed International journals of high impact factor. One student has already received PhD degree working under her mentor ship and five students are currently pursuing PhD under her guide ship.
